A rose EDP and a rose EDT from the same house can smell noticeably different at hour two.

For daily office wear, a lighter floral EDT is a reasonable choice. For evenings, gifting, or when you want the fragrance to carry through a full day without reapplication, an EDP is the more practical option.

How Long Do Floral Perfumes Last

Longevity varies significantly by composition, concentration, skin type, climate, and application method. Floral fragrances with a resinous base (amber, labdanum, musk) tend to hold longer than lighter peony or green florals, because the base anchors the middle-note florals once the top notes evaporate. On dry skin in warm weather, even an EDP may fade faster than expected. On moisturized skin in cooler conditions, the same fragrance may carry for many hours.

Applying over an unscented body lotion, or spraying onto clothing rather than skin, extends how long the fragrance is detectable. Pulse points (wrists, neck) project more; fabric holds fragrance longer.
